Maritime journalists set to honour late Otunba Folarin with Colloquium

All is now set for the Maritime Colloquium in honour of late shipping icon, Otunba Kunle Folarin, as being put together by his media friends.

According to a statement signed by the Coordinator, Mr Eguono Odjegba, on behalf of the organisers,
the event is in collaboration with the Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC), and would hold on Thursday, January 19, 2023.

He added that captains of industry, dignitaries, friends, maritime journalists, associates and family members of the late sage, who passed on November 8, 2022, would be in attendance at the Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos, venue.

Odjegba stated that the one-day Maritime Colloquium would be chaired by Capt. Emmanuel lhenacho, a former minister of the Interior and a big-time player in the sector.

A lead presentation titled, “Ensuring Effective Disbursement of Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund”, would be made by a maritime lawyer, Mrs Jean Chiazor Anishere, SAN, the statement added.

The statement continued, “A panel of discussants on the topic includes the Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Bashir Jamoh; Shipowners Association of Nigeria (SOAN) President, Dr. MkGeorge Onyoung; Mrs. Funke Agbo, a maritime lawyer and Chief Johnson Chukwu, a financial expert.

“The event is billed to begin by 9:00am prompt”, adding that it was open to all maritime stakeholders.
